Jackie and Matthew met at a bar in San Diego, but ended up making their lives in South Carolina. So for all their family and friends, this was a destination wedding and a chance to see their new lives in the South. Their friends experienced Downtown Charleston history at The Mills House and even took a horse and buggy ride through town while visiting. A classic wedding was the main theme throughout their wedding day, but they also chose to keep things light and colorful for their fall wedding using bright florals.
The Mills House was the perfect location for their wedding as it was walking distance from their church and offered a beautiful outdoor area for both cocktails and their reception. Jackie's taste are very clean and classic, which the hotel complimented well. She chose to enhance the hotel's historic and beautiful architecture by adding touches of gold and colorful flowers for the centerpieces. The band they hired had everyone up and dancing all night long, except for when they paused for speeches by the Father of the Bride and the Best Man who took the opportunity to embarrass the Groom a bit.
The most memorable moment of the entire day came during Jackie and Matthew's wedding ceremony when the best man dropped the rings. It turned out to be a funny and light hearted moment that made everyone laugh. Sometimes a good unplanned laugh turns into your best wedding moment!
