Stephanie isn’t someone who believes in luck when it comes to finding true love in life. She’s a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and we each have our one true love and soulmate out there. Stephanie found her soulmate, Devon, through her brother. She was warned to stay away from her brother’s best friend because of course her older brother wanted his little sister to have nothing to do with his friends. Luckily, Stephanie didn’t take heed of this warning, met up with Devon a few years later and quickly started dating. It didn’t take long for Devon to discover that Stephanie was his soulmate as well, say I Love You and propose on a snowy night. Don’t you just love a real life romantic story, we do!

The Grand America Hotel is one Stephanie has known since childhood as it exemplifies luxury, service and comfort. This is exactly what they were looking for when searching for their wedding venue. To top off finding the perfect venue, both Stephanie and Devon have family in Salt Lake City, making it easy for them to attend.
Stephanie wanted to have an outdoor ceremony so she chose to have their wedding in July and host a daytime wedding. (Brunch and lunchtime weddings really seem to be trending lately as we just had another brunch real wedding last week!) Since their ceremony would be in the middle of a hot day, Stephanie and Devon opted to keep it short and sweet so their guests wouldn’t melt. Although when it came time for the kiss, Devon took the photographer’s notes to heart when advised to make it long enough to capture a photo. Stephanie recalls, “Well, Devon took it a little far and I ended up trying to push him away a little hoping he’d get the hint to stop! Not like anyone noticed me trying to save my lips from his suction cups lips! I think he only stopped for air.” Sounds like this kiss was nearly as long as the ceremony!
After the ceremony guests were ushered into The Grand Salon for a lunch buffet, cake (stunning!) and dancing. While the newlyweds were dancing, guests snuck outside and turned their black car pink with balloons, stickers and wedding day sayings. That made for a very interesting ride back to their home state of Washington. Guests ate great food, enjoyed the cake and with a little convincing danced the afternoon away. Stephanie recalls the entire day as being her favorite part of the wedding as there was no one moment more special than the other. Now starts Stephanie and Devon’s life together where they aim to achieve 75 years of marriage like her great grandparents. Cheers to this happy couple!
